Have you ever stopped to think about how much you’re “Giving Back” to your local community?
Since moving to the North East to study at Newcastle University a year ago, I have had so many amazing experiences. From exploring cultural attractions such as the Angel of the North to experiencing Newcastle’s amazing nightlife, I’ve done it all.
But recently I’ve been thinking about ways to give back to the community that welcomed me with open arms when I was a lost 18-year-old moving away from home for the first time.
This is why I want to explore the different volunteering opportunities on offer across Newcastle, and I’d love it if you could join me for the journey.
I plan to spend some time volunteering at a different organisation every week, blogging about my experiences and giving such organisations a platform to have their voices heard within the student community.
I want to find out how we as students can make a real difference in the city that we love, hopefully inspiring some of you to get involved too.
Check out the video below to find out a little bit more about me:
As mentioned in the video, I plan to update this blog every Sunday so keep a look out for next week’s post! Until then, you can stay up to date with what I’m up to by following me on Instagram and Twitter.
See you next week!
